The PTFE sleeve provides a protective barrier between the process fluid and selected valve components, helping improve corrosion resistance and material compatibility when correctly selected for the service conditions.
A sleeved plug valve uses a rotating plug enclosed by a PTFE sleeve to control the process flow. The quarter-turn design, where applicable, provides straightforward operation for on/off isolation. The sleeve also provides the primary wetted surface in contact with the process medium, making PTFE compatibility with the actual chemical, concentration and operating temperature an important part of valve selection.
